New Year's Eve and I am Officially Caught up on Blogging!!!

We headed over to the Culver's for some pizza and rock band fun....we made it until about 3 then headed home and much to everyone's amazement Rachel stayed awake the ENTIRE time! But she was punch drunk tired by the end of the night and I think asleep before we got out of the drive!
Rachel getting in on the video games...I wonder where she learns this???
The boys comparing notes...they actually were on the computer very little but this is just SO them!
Papa Chet has another student!
The kids hung out by themselves most of the night either playing Star Wars, video games of some sort or Twister.
Waiting for the ball to drop Brandon was insistent he was going to stay up and see this after it dropped and the kissing started he was grossed out and went quickly back to playing!!
It is about twoish here and Rachel is still holding on!
then she decided she needed to get active and stay awake by playing some Rock Band...and of coarse head banging is a must!
They are fading fast and we headed home shortly to get everyone to bed!

Christmas

Well unfortunately I woke up Christmas morning not feeling so hot but the day must go on...so the kids tore into their presents and breakfast went into the oven for my Mom, Dad, Leigh, Mem and Russ to join us for a few more gifts and delicious food to eat! After breakfast I took the first of my naps of the day then headed out for my Grandma and Grandpa's for lunch. Then back home again for one more nap before heading over to Grandma and Grandpa Lawson's house followed up by one last Christmas celebration with Chet and Cindy. Yes it was a busy day!
Brandon LOVES the movie Wild Hogs...don't ask me why?! {it is an awesome movie...it's just that he is six...not typical kid stuff!}
And Rachel LOVES Brother Bear so she was excited to get her own copy she could watch at home and not just at Mam's house!
We always do a white elephant gift exchange on the Lawson side and this years funniest gift was the Ford Meter Box hat Chet got!
Rachel and Caydence got 4-wheelers from Papa and Mamaw Lawson Caydence wasn't really sure what to do with hers but my dare devil child know exactly what to do and by the end of the evening she was standing on the seat and riding....do the gift givers pay any medical bills incurred...I better check the fine print!!

Christmas Jammies

One tradition I have taken from Bonnie {Jess's mom} is new jammies on Christmas eve night so the kids wake for Christmas and look super cute for pictures....I don't know if that was her motivation but it sure is mine!

Party Time

We celebrated Rachel's second birthday with a Hello Kitty theme with lots of family to sing and party with! One of the funniest things was when she opened the second to last gift it was a Little People farm and all she would do from then on out was sing moo moo here moo moo here over and over again {so cute!}

Rachel is 2!!!

I can't believe my baby is two...who would have thought on the night of her birth when everything about her life was a big question and topsy turvy how much she would have grown and flourished. I know and expect my kids to get big but some days she just seems wise beyond her years it amazes me how well she is talking and that she is NOT afraid to express herself. I don't remember Brandon being so zealous for life not that he wasn't/isn't a fun kid he is just much more laid back and go with the flow...were Rachel is going to tell you what she likes! And some of those things she likes are....Dora, Little People, pestering her big brother, playing with her friend Madi, bathtime, hot dogs {all food really!}, Hello Kitty, her paci {which we are trying to break!} Brother Bear the movie, pestering her big brother some more, cookies and a few of the things I love most about Rachel are her never fail smile, how she greets you when you come home with a gigantic hug and squeal of delight, how loving she is to us all the time and how she argues with her daddy just to get him to tickle her and most of all I absolutely love the glint of orneriness in her eyes when she is up to something she isn't supposed to do!
*so i realized the next morning that this was my 100th post....seems to be a fitting one! Happy 100!...and Happy New Year!

Rachel's First Haircut

So I was tired of the straggly hair in the eyes and I sent Rachel with Brandon and Daddy for her first haircut. She sat in the chair and was very good although she insisted on having a sucker WHILE she got it cut and wouldn't wait until after but she didn't drop it or get it in her hair so it was all good!

Making our Tree Festive

So once I got home from shopping in Chicago Jesse had set up the tree and it just was calling out to be made beautiful so we got started and was a bit chaotic {and we all know how I do when things are out of control!} but i survived and the tree looked beautiful....maybe not beautiful in a perfect sort of way {that I prefer!} but in a did it as a family and had a good time beautiful!
