Fort Wayne Zoo~Day 5

So day four we just traveled home and on day five we decided to take in at least one zoo so we headed up to the Fort Wayne zoo and checked out the exhibits we didn't spend much time in last time. The kids really enjoyed the petting zoo Rachel wasn't afraid of the goats at all and I had one befriend me and gave me goat kisses all over my arm....yes I washed well afterwards! We headed to the African exhibit again since it was just so cool the last time we were there. This time we got to get up close with the giraffes and Brandon and I even feed them a piece of lettuce! It's tongue was SO long it just cracked me up! We also got to see the lions much closer this time and they even got a little playful by wrestling around in front of us. Day six we just did laundry and rented movies and had a VERY relaxed day!

Change of Plans~Day 3

So we had planned to go the Cincinnati zoo but the weather changed our plans for us by raining all day. So we decided to check out the Creation Museum which was very cool it had lots of interactive models, a replica of Noah's Ark and very real accounting of creation the downside was that it is meant for much older children and adults so our two were a little lost and bored not to mention Brandon was coming off sensory overload from the past two days and wasn't happy there weren't all types of electronic things to keep him entertained. But they also had gardens to walk and a petting zoo to check out and since it had stopped raining and was just VERY muggy we headed outside to see that as well. We ended the day by heading to the mall that was very close to the hotel Brandon got a backpack for school...transformers..very cool! And when we first walked into the mall there was the jumpy thing that Brandon wanted to go on so him and I went on that and of course I had left the camera in the car and didn't get a picture but they put you in a harness and attach you to these ropes and you jump REALLY high Brandon tried his darnedest to do a back flip he almost but not quite got over I didn't try for the back flip because I was too busy watching him (we were across from each other). And of course not to leave Rachel and Daddy out they went on the carousel ride which Rachel LOVES and didn't want to get off of it! I almost forgot to mention that this day was Jesse and I's 9 year anniversary! We watched our wedding video while we where still in Indy and we both said after watching it we had such a greater appreciation of the vows we spoke that day now. I can't wait to see what the next 50-60 years brings us!

Kings Island~Day 2 of Vacation

So on Tuesday we got up and headed out to kings island we took in Nickelodeon World Brandon had lots of fun and was really brave and went on even the bigger rides. Rachel even got on some of the smaller rides and had lots of fun but then after a few times around and getting squished by her brother had enough and wanted off! After we got hot and tired of rides we headed to the water park Rachel didn't want to really get too wet so we stayed in the shallows of the wave pool but Brandon and Jess took off for the deeper part Brandon was a hoot to watch jump the swells of the wave pool he loved and didn't even get to upset when the water got in his eyes. So after that we headed to the hotel to check in, relax and order room service pizza which was really yummy!

Vacation Day 1~Childrens Museum

We left to head to Indy last Sunday and spent the afternoon at Bonnie and Bill's house had lunch and some trampoline fun. Grandpa also had gotten a new toy and drove the grand kids around in the bucket of it...as you can imagine Brandon was thrilled! Then on Monday we headed to the Museum to have loads of fun checking out all the fun stuff. Rachel really liked the glass exhibit and the playscapes. Brandon was fun to watch he got into everything so much more then he had in previous visits.
the clouds were so fluff and pretty!

Smoky turns 65

Last weekend we went out to the campground with Chet and Cindy and spent the night on Saturday. The campground was having a parade and celebration to honor Smoky the Bear's 65th birthday so we decorated bikes then lined up to be in a parade around the campground. Unfortunately Smoky ruined it for Brandon by showing up for his party because he was TERRIFIED of Smoky and wouldn't ride in the parade so we just watched everyone else. He was so upset that he didn't even want to stick around for cookies and ice cream Jess had to take him back to the campsite while I waited on Cindy and Rachel to get back. Other than that and the chilliness of the weekend we had a great time!

Fair Fun

We went to the fair with my friend Tia this is somewhat of a tradition that we have had since the kids were born its nice to get to hang out and catch up. Although its a lot harder now to catch up on things then it used to be! So we ate dinner at the Friend's Booth....they have the BEST onion rings EVER! Then we checked out the projects including my sister's photography project that she got a blue/state fair possiblity on so for her first attempt I was very impressed. Then we went and looked at the animals Rachel was hilarious by growling at the pigs when the "talked" to her. We also got to pet a 3 week old baby goat SO cute!! Rachel loved the bunnies and Brandon wasn't real impressed with any of the animals he just wanted to ride the rides! Which he did the dragon roller coaster and the swings {which I was VERY nervous to let him ride but he LOVED} We had hoped to get some ice cream but since it was past bedtime and Rachel was on the verge of a melt down {the down fall of a strict bedtime} we decided to hide on home!
Rachel wondering why she wasn't getting through the gate then the pucker lip when she realized Bubby got to do something without her.

Summer Fun...without pics

I could not believe that I totally forgot my camera yesterday I was able to leave for the afternoon and since its Jesse's normal half day we decided to take the kids to the pool. We had lots of fun we even got in the big pool Brandon is just not quite tall enough to reach the bottom and keep his head up so he clung to Jess while me and Rachel splashed around. Rachel loved the baby pool spending more time climbing in and out then actually playing in the water! It was so nice just to finally get to do some fun summer activities....this week is also the fair so we will have some fun there too! (but I'll be sure to remember my camera!) And since I can never post with a picture this is dedicated to Nicole since its her beautiful baby girl!!
